First thing you notice about the new stylus SX218 is its size, it amazingly compact for a multifunction printer and its also not ugly like most of the other multifunction inkjet printers around. Installing the device onto a PC is very easy as is installing the printer ink cartridges. The Epson SX218 ink cartridges consist of four Epson ink cartridges one for each of the colours, black, cyan, magenta & yellow, this is an advantage in terms of running costs because it means you only have to change one colour at a time when it run out. When you start using the SX218 the first thing that you notice is that is quite a bit louder than most of it competitors when its printing but when you see the print quality that it produces the noise doesn’t seem to matter so much. It is really amazing that a budget printer can produce such as a high standard of print quality of such as wide variety of documents, from photos to standard text. Printing speed however is not so impressive and although inkjet printers are not renown for their fast printing speeds the SX218 is slower than the average at 4ppm. Scanning capabilities of the SX218 are pretty average there nothing really to complain about but at the same time theses nothing really to boast about. The photocopier is the same although it is a bit limited by the fact that it can only copy nine documents at a time and coupled with the SX218’s slow printing speeds means its no good for large quantities. Overall the SX218 is a solid device that performs well for the money it costs.
